BIG FLATS,
Two people died in a propane gas explosion and structure fire in the
township of Big Flats in Adams County on Friday, according to a media
release from Sheriff Sam Wollin of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
At 1:48 p.m. Friday, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a 911 call reporting explosions and a structure fire in the 900 block of East Trout Valley Road. Emergency personnel found a mobile home at 931A East Trout Valley Road fully engulfed in flames, according to the release.
The incident continues to be under investigation by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation Arson Bureau and Adam County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Assisting the sheriff’s department at the scene were the Big Flats Fire Department, Nekoosa Ambulance, Rome Fire Department, Adams Fire Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
No other information is being provided at this time, according to the release. We have learned through other sources that the explosion was caused by propane gas.
