19 year old Palmetto driver killed in 3 car crash

PALMETTO, FLA. --

Palmetto Police officers are investigating a three vehicle crash they say happened just after 5 p.m. Saturday on the U.S. 41 overpass at U.S. 301 when a southbound green Honda Accord driven by 19 year-old Orlando Francisco Morales-Chun crossed into the northbound traffic lanes and collided with two northbound vehicles:

a white Ford F-150 pick up driven by 28-year-old Megan Muller and a gold Jeep driven by 65-year-old Violet Evans.

Orlando Morales-Chun was driving alone and did not survive the crash.

Violet Evans was the only person in her vehicle and she was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital. Her injuries are not life threatening.

The driver of the Ford F-150 and her three passengers were not hurt in the crash.

Both northbound lanes and one southbound lane of traffic were blocked for about three hours for the crash investigation and to clear the roadway.

All travel lanes have since reopened.
