Driver killed in Hwy. 61 head-on crash
A driver traveling the wrong way on Highway 61 near Knife River was killed in a head-on crash Saturday night, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The
driver, who hasn't yet been identified, was traveling northbound in the
southbound lanes just before 11 p.m. and struck a car traveling
southbound.
The driver of the struck vehicle, Cole Dreschler, 20, of Cloquet, suffered serious injuries.
His passenger, Sarah Buscher, 19, also of Cloquet, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident occurred about 20 miles north of Duluth, near Salaka Road.
