After nearly three weeks of fighting for his life, an Amarillo truck driver has succumbed to his injuries following a rollover wreck.
On May 10, Texas state troopers say 49 year-old Russel Van Shuey was traveling on Highway 83 near Wheeler, Texas when he struck a cow in the road.
Attempting to avoid hitting another cow, troopers say Shuey over-corrected and flipped his truck and trailer into a ditch.
Shuey was rushed to a hospital in Wheeler and from there, flown to an Amarillo hospital.
He died Friday morning, May 29, as a result of his injuries.
