THE DEADLY U.S. ROADS: 2 PEOPLE KILLED, 1 CRITICALLY INJURED IN WRONG-WAY HEAD-ON FIERY CRASH ON SR 500 IN VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON

JUNE 12, 2015

VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV)

Two people died and one person was injured in a head-on crash on State Route 500 in Vancouver early Friday morning.

Washington State Patrol said the driver and passenger in a 1985 Nissan 3ZX were heading westbound in an eastbound lane of SR-500 before they crashed head-on into an eastbound Honda Element near Andresen Road just before 3 a.m.

The Nissan caught fire after the crash. The driver, 32-year-old Randal Corbin, and passenger, 33-year-old Michael B. York, were both killed.

The driver of the Honda Element, 38-year-old Amy Osborne-Clarke, was injured and taken to a Vancouver hospital. Her condition was not immediately released.

It's unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, WSP said. Of course, the evidence suggests that the wrong-way driver was drunk or on drugs.  We will wait and see what the autopsy results show.
