MASSIVE JET FUEL SPILL SHUTS DOWN I-49 AFTER BIG RIG ROLLS OVER IN LOUISIANA. DRIVER INJURED.

A section of Interstate 49 between Alexandria and Boyce, Louisiana is closed.

About 11am Friday, a big rig hauling jet fuel overturned in the median causing a major hazardous spill.

The driver, who's from Heins Trucking in Shreveport, suffered moderate to serious injuries.

Authorities say he was transporting the jet fuel from Shreveport to England Airpark in Alexandria.

I-49 is closed in both directions between Alexandria and Boyce until later tonight, possibly til 11pm.

Drivers are being detoured onto Highway 1.
