LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE)
A worker was killed this morning in a workplace accident at an Okolona aluminum plant.
A MetroSafe dispatcher said the accident happened at 7:41 a.m. at Cardinal Aluminum at 4005 Oaklawn Drive.
Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the victim was trying to retrieve equipment from a machine inside the building when he suffered blunt force trauma to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mitchell said the accident happened in the painting area of the plant.
The LMPD Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation.
A crew with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is also on the scene investigating.
