BALDWIN, WISCONSIN
A speeding car ran a stop sign in western Wisconsin and went
airborne, pitching its unbelted driver to his death as it rolled several times
until coming to a halt upside-down, authorities said Sunday.
The crash occurred northeast of Baldwin about 5:45 p.m.
Saturday on County Hwy. E near County Hwy. D, according to the St. Croix County
Sheriff’s Office.
Killed was Oscar Flores-Saldivar, 35, of Amery, Wis., the
Sheriff’s Office said.
A witness reported to authorities that the car was
“traveling at a high rate of speed [and] failed to stop at the stop sign”
before flying into a field. Flores-Saldivar was found outside the car and was
dead, according to a Sheriff’s Office statement. He will not do that again.
Baldwin is about 20 miles east of Hudson, Wis.
