Canton Man Dies In Workplace Accident
Federal officials will be investigating the incident to see if any safety standards were violated, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.

CANTON, GA —
Federal officials have been called in to investigate a fatal workplace accident reported Thursday morning in Cherokee County. Deputies with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a call of a person injured around 8 a.m. Sept. 13 at East Gate Pallet.
Officials arrived at the site at 150 Bobo Trail near Holly Springs to discover a 20-year-old employee had been "involved in what appears to be a workplace accident involving a table saw," said sheriff's office spokesperson Jay Baker.
Baker said the man, identified as Tabor Daniel Hayes, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene. While CSO detectives are investigating the incident, no foul play is suspected.
Baker said the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been informed of the accident, and will be investigating to determine if any safety conditions were violated.
At East Gate Pallets, they specialize in selling new pallets, combo pallets, new and used skids.

A 20-year-old Canton man was killed Thursday morning in a workplace accident at the East Gate Pallets plant at 150 Bobo Trail, near Holly Springs.
At 8:05 a.m. Thursday, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a person injured call at the East Gate Pallet facility. Employee Tabor Daniel Hayes of Canton, was involved in what appeared to be a workplace accident involving a table saw, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jay Baker. Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death has been ruled an accident, Cherokee County Earl Darby said Friday afternoon. Hayes body was taken to the state crime lab for an autopsy. Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials were notified and will be reviewing the incident to see if any safety conditions were violated.
Cherokee Fire and Emergency Services as well as the Cherokee County Coroner also responded to the scene.

Tabor Daniel Hayes, age 20, of Canton, GA, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 13, 2018. Born on November 6th 1997 in Exeter, NH. Tabor loved life and spent it making others laugh. Tabor enjoyed being outdoors but most of all being around friends and family. His smile could light up a room and his sense of humor could turn grey skies blue. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Hamilton officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at South Canton Funeral Home.
