Derek Roeske, 26, electrocuted to death
AMITY, NY — A Wellsville man was pronounced dead Wednesday after he was electrocuted at a residence on Ingraham Road in Amity.
Amity-based State Police today said they responded at 10:08 p.m. Wednesday to a report of a possible electrocution at 4800B Ingraham Road.
“Investigation revealed that a backhoe had struck an overhead utility line, causing a utility pole to breaThe primary distribution line subsequently fell on 26-year-old Derek Roeske, who had been standing nearby, assisting the backhoe operator.”
An Amity ambulance took Roeske to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville, where he was pronounced dead.
Allegany County Coroner Ted Crowell said this morning said he was contacted Wednesday and asked to respond to Jones Memorial. He said he pronounced Roeske dead at 10:49 p.m. in the Jones Memorial Emergency Room.
