LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) - Two teen boys, 14, were killed in a fiery crash after stealing a car from a classic car shop in Plymouth Township on Saturday night.
According to sources, Livonia police received numerous 911 calls about a reckless driver of a Mustang around an elementary school.
A police officer showed up, saw the Mustang and attempted to pull it over, but the driver took off on Plymouth Rd.
Another officer joined in on the chase, but police terminated it just west of Newburgh Rd. because of the high speeds.
Later, Plymouth Township police were called to a crash, so they called Livonia police to see if it was the car Livonia was chasing.
When Livonia police showed up, they confirmed it was the Mustang they had earlier tried to pull over and chased for a short period of time.
Sources tell 7 Action News there were two 14-year-old boys inside the Mustang who were killed.
According to family members, the teens were out riding bikes when they saw the car. They threw their bikes in the back and took off.
Both were freshman at Livonia Churchill High School. The school will have counseling support on hand throughout the week for anyone who needs it.
They will not do this again. They saved society from forthcoming crimes and other criminal activity. Steeling a car at age of 14 and fleeing police at high speeds and with the headlights turned-off is one of the worst crimes we have seen. Most likely white trash teens on drugs or alcohol.

PLYMOUTH TWP., MI – Two teens younger than driving age died Saturday night when a Ford Mustang police said was stolen crashed and caught fire.
Emergency personnel were called about 9:20 p.m. to the area of Plymouth and Haggerty roads for a two-vehicle crash. Police and firefighters found the white Mustang fully in flames, and both occupants died at the scene, according to a Plymouth Township police statement.
Livonia police reported the passenger and driver were 14 years old.
Less than 20 minutes before the crash, Livonia police received multiple calls about the car doing "donuts" and running into garbage cans at Garfield Elementary School on Arthur Street in Livonia, west of Detroit.
Police spotted the car at Yale Street and Plymouth Road and attempted a traffic stop as the Mustang headed west on Plymouth Road.
Instead, the Mustang driver accelerated and police followed in pursuit until the Mustang's headlights were turned off near Newburgh Road.
Livonia officers soon learned of the crash, about one mile west of where police ended the pursuit, according to the statement.
Police reported the Mustang had been stolen from an area business.
The families of the teens have been notified, but names will not be released because of their ages. "The Livonia Police Department grieves this tragic loss with the families," police said in a statement.
According to the Detroit Free Press, both of the boys were freshman at Churchill High School in Livonia.
Plymouth Township police did not release many details of the crash in the statement. An investigation involving several agencies is ongoing.
Chief Tom Tiderington told the Free Press the Mustang driver lost control of the car, traveling at a high speed, and it clipped a minivan and left the road.

Two male teenagers, both freshmen at Churchill High School, were killed Saturday night in a fiery rollover crash in Plymouth Township following a chase by Livonia police .
The teens, whose names and ages were being withheld in the early stages of the investigation, were in a Ford Mustang that was traveling west on Plymouth Road west of Haggerty, near the Courthouse Grille, when it crashed into an eastbound minivan, rolled over, went through the restaurant parking lot and into a wooded area above Hines Drive, police said. The car was completely engulfed in flames, said Plymouth Township Chief Tom Tiderington.
The Mustang's driver, Tiderington said, was apparently driving at high speed about 9:30 p.m. when he lost control of the car, which sideswiped the left rear portion of the minivan before leaving the roadway. A husband and wife in the minivan were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, the chief said.
The Mustang was later discovered to have been stolen from outside an area business, Tiderington said. The investigation, by police in Livonia and Plymouth Township, was continuing Sunday.
Livonia police say they received a call at about 9:07 p.m. Saturday night of a vehicle doing doughnuts in the parking lot of Garfield Elementary, 10218 Arthur in Livonia. A caller told them the vehicle had crashed into some garbage cans at the school and had then left the parking lot. Police responded and began searching for the vehicle, which they found on Yale near Plymouth Road.
The Mustang turned left and headed westbound on Plymouth Road when police attempted to pull the vehicle over. The car did not pull over and began driving away at a high rate of speed on westbound Plymouth Road. Livonia police terminated the pursuit after the vehicle extinguished its headlights near Newburgh Road.
"Livonia Police Department grieves this tragic loss with the families," the department said in a release.
A message seeking more info from Livonia police was left Sunday afternoon.
Livonia Public Schools issued a statement on Sunday extending prayers and sympathy to the family, friends and classmates of the boys.
"Tragedies such as this affect our entire community and we respectfully ask that people allow the police department to do their investigative work and allow the families and friends of these two young men the opportunity to grieve in private," read the statement, in part.
The statement said Churchill will have trained personnel on hand this week to offer counseling to any students, parents and staff members who may need it.

Two Livonia Churchill High School freshmen boys were killed Saturday in Plymouth Township after the stolen Ford Mustang they were in hit a minivan, rolled over and burst into flames, police said.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the teens' ages as 14 and 15 but didn't release their names Sunday afternoon.
"The families of both victims have been notified, however, their names will not be released due to their age," Livonia police said in a news release. "The Livonia Police Department grieves this tragic loss with the families."
The Livonia Police Department received multiple 911 calls about 9:07 p.m. Saturday stating a white Ford Mustang with two occupants was doing doughnuts in the parking lot of Garfield Elementary School at 10218 Arthur St.
According to the release, callers also reported that the vehicle crashed into garbage cans at the school and had left the parking lot. Livonia police officers responded to the area to look for car and located it on Yale at Plymouth Road, a short distance from the school.
The Mustang turned west onto Plymouth Road from Yale and when a Livonia officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated.
Officers pursued the Mustang with their emergency equipment activated, according to the release, and the driver of the Mustang cut off its headlights near Newburgh Road.
The officers terminated the pursuit and contacted the Plymouth Township Police Department, which found a vehicle matching the Mustang's description had crashed on Plymouth Road west of Haggerty, and that both occupants were deceased. The location was about one mile west of where Livonia officers terminated the pursuit, according to police.
According to the Plymouth Township Police Department, the teens were traveling west on Plymouth Road, west of Haggerty at a high rate of speed around 9:20 p.m. when their vehicle crashed into an eastbound minivan, rolled over, went through the restaurant parking lot and into a wooded area above Hines Drive.
Plymouth Township Chief Tom Tiderington said in a news release that the car was completely engulfed in flames.
Tiderington said the driver of the Mustang lost control of the car and clipped the left rear of the minivan before leaving the roadway. According to the chief, a husband and wife who were in the minivan were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The Mustang was later discovered to have been stolen from outside an area business, Tiderington said. The Plymouth Township Police Department is being assisted by the Michigan State Police, Livonia Police Department and Plymouth City Police Department.
