The leak was initially reported as a gas line explosion a little before 1 p.m., about 20 miles west of Salina.

There were no reports of injuries in the explosion. Officials with Northern Natural Gas say there was no danger to the public, but they decided to shut down the interstate as a precaution.

There were some reports of a loud noise with the leak and dirt flying in the air. We're told that can happen when there's a leak in a pressurized zone.
