KINGSTON, N.H. —A 90-year-old driver who was pulled from a vehicle that caught fire after the man crashed along a Kingston roadway has died, officials said.
Investigators said Paul Francis was driving a 2005 Ford Focus on Exeter Road when, for unknown reasons, the car went off the left side and struck several trees before rolling over.
The vehicle then caught fire.
Witnesses to the crash were able to remove Francis from the car before it was consumed by flames.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to have been factors in the crash, but it appears that Francis was not wearing his seat belt.
Francis was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he later died of the injuries.
Exeter Road was closed at the intersection of Willow Road for about 1 1/2 hours as troopers conducted their investigation.
