BOSTON, MASS.
A Coast Guard air crew medically evacuated a 19-year-old woman from the cruise ship Norweigian Dawn Friday off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Watchstanders at the 1st Coast Guard District in Boston received a call at 8:32 p.m. from the ship explaining a passenger was suffering from suspected appendicitis.
After a conference call between the command center and the duty flight surgeon, it was decided a medevac was warranted.
A helicopter rescue crew launched from Air Station Cape Cod and was on scene with Norweigian Dawn at about 10 p.m. They hoisted the woman safely aboard and
