DALLAS, TEXAS
A Dallas homebuilder has been sentenced to two years in
prison for insurance fraud over false reports of more than $250,000 in
materials stolen.
Edward Adrian Abraham operated under the name of Park Cities
Development Inc.
Federal prosecutors in Dallas on Friday announced the
penalty for Abraham, who last year pleaded guilty to wire fraud. The
56-year-old Abraham was also ordered to pay $252,000 in restitution to
insurance companies.
Investigators say Abraham in 2009 ran an insurance scheme
with false reports of building materials stolen from two job sites.
Prosecutors say Abraham filed bogus police reports, plus had
fake invoices sent to insurance companies to support his claims.
Abraham later admitted that no building materials were
stolen.
