ST LOUIS, MISSOURI
A medical helicopter crashed into the parking lot of a
St. Louis (MO) hospital, killing the pilot.
The helicopter went down late last night in the parking lot on the campus of St. Louis University Hospital.
Pictures from the scene show charred smoky remains.
No patients, employees or hospital visitors were
affected-the pilot was the only fatality, whose identity has not been
released.
The copter was heading from the ARCH Air Medical
Services base along I-64 to the hospital to pick up a crew when it went
down around 11:00pm near Spring Avenue and Rutger Street.
National Transportation Safety Board investigators are
on the scene Saturday morning. The cause of the crash had not been determined.
