MEADOWVIEW, VA

The relentless snowfall is being blamed for all kinds of property damage around the region.

One instance is the collapse of a barn near Meadowview, Virginia.

The building is owned by Jimmy Ball who says the barn has been there for almost 20 years.

He didn't think the snow would bring it down, but he says it was a combination of things that lead to the roof falling in.

"When the rain started coming down the snow just soaked the rain up and put that much more weight on my roof and it just made it totally collapse."Said Ball.

Ball said he hopes to salvage what is inside the barn including a truck and feed for his livestock. He says he expects it to cost around 100 thousand dollars to rebuild it.
