HOUSTON, TEXAS
NBC News
- A passenger jet was forced to make an emergency landing at a Texas
airport late Monday after part of its landing gear failed to deploy,
officials said. The American Airlines flight, operated by U.S. Airways,
was photographed by a passenger with its nose on the runway at Houston’s
George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
The 52 passengers and four crew
aboard the Embraer 190 were forced to exit on emergency slides after the
landing at 11 p.m. local time (midnight ET), the airline said in a
statement to NBC News.
One passenger was transported to hospital but the
airline said their injuries were not thought to be serious.
