SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

A man walked away with no major injuries after a big rig rolled over and landed on top of his Toyota Tundra pickup truck Tuesday morning on the Northwest Side.

David Herndon, 61, said he had been sitting at a stop light on Hausman Road at Loop 1604 around 11:30 a.m. when a Chevrolet Tahoe swerved in front of a large Lowe's Home Improvement cargo truck, causing its driver to swerve and roll the vehicle.

The trailer the Lowe's truck was hauling landed on top of Herndon's truck, pushing it backward nearly 10 feet into two other vehicles.

Herndon said he was able to pull himself out of his crushed vehicle after the crash.

The driver of the Tahoe was transported to an area hospital complaining back injuries.

The driver of a Lowe's truck was not transported to the hospital.

Emergency crews have shut down Hausman Road north of Loop 1604 while they work to clear the scene. Traffic on Loop 1604 is moving.
