RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - A bus driver hit by an SUV has died of his injuries.
Reno police say about 7:40PM June 3, 2016, they began responding to a report that a Citifare bus had been involved in a minor crash with a small passenger car in the area of Silver Lake and Silver Sky in Stead. While police were on the way, they were told that while the bus driver and the other involved driver were observing the damage to the bus, a third vehicle struck the bus driver, who was standing in the street. Another driver then hit the SUV. The bus driver was taken to Renown Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.
No passengers in the bus or the other vehicles were reported hurt.
Police say it appears the setting sun made visibility poor for all drivers headed west. Neither alcohol nor other drugs appear to be a factor.
