A violent overnight crash in Rockville killed one woman and
seriously injured a driver.
Two cars crashed on Muncaster Mill Road just north of Bowie
Mill Road around 11:30 Sunday night, says Captain Paul Starks, spokesman for
the Montgomery County Police Department.
A preliminary investigation indicates a man driving a black
2014 Ford Focus was traveling southbound on Muncaster Mill Road south of Olde
Mill Run when his vehicle inexplicably collided with a white Ford Taurus that
was heading north.
According to Capt. Starks, a woman driving the Taurus died
at the scene. Juan Francisco Diana, 34, of Silver Spring, was behind the wheel
of the black Focus.
He was taken to Suburban Hospital with serious, but
non-life-threatening injuries.
The identity of the woman who was killed will be released
once next of kin have been notified.
Montgomery Co. Police detectives continue to investigate the
crash. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the
