THREE-STORY TOWNHOUSE IN THE EDGEWATER VILLAGE, MARYLAND IS GUTTED BY FIRE THAT INJURES ONE AND DISPLACES 7.

EDGEWOOD, MD:
One person was seriously injured and seven people were
displaced by a fire that gutted an Edgewood townhouse Thursday morning, the
Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company said.
The fire, reported at 6:18 a.m., was in a three-story
townhouse in the 1900 block of Eloise Lane in the Edgewater Village
neighborhood.
More than 60 firefighters responded from Joppa-Magnolia,
Abingdon Volunteer Fire Company, Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department,
Aberdeen Fire Department, Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and Fallston Volunteer
and Ambulance Company, Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, White Marsh Volunteer
Fire Company and Baltimore County Fire Department-Middle River, according to a
Joppa Magnolia incident report.
The Harford County Hazmat Team also responded to provide
a rehab unit and heaters for the firefighters, who had to work in subfreezing
temperatures. The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes,
the fire company report states.
The injured man, who was not identified, was taken in
serious but stable condition by a Joppa-Magnolia medical unit to the Johns
Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Burn Unit in East Baltimore. Two other occupants
of the home refused transport to the hospital, according to the fire company,
whose last units did not leave the scene until almost 11 a.m.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office is
investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
