AN 18-WHEELER CARRYING LOGS HAS FLIPPED OVER ON ITS SIDE
ONTO A CAR IN OUACHITA PARISH, LA. THE LOCALS HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR A LOWER
SPEED LIMIT FOR 18-WHEELERS, BUT IN DEAF MAN’S DOOR YOU CAN KNOCK AS MANY TIMES
AS YOU WANT. WE HOPE THAT THE DEAF ARE
NOT BLIND AS WELL.

Many residents on Hwy. 143 saw this day coming, when an 18 wheeler going too fast would have an accident.
Rebecca Keys was the lady that car was struck by the lumber
truck heading south on Hwy. 143.
Key's sisters say she managed to leave the scene without
receiving medical attention.
Surrounding residents and businesses in that area say they
have been pushing for some time now for the parish or state to regulate the
speed limit through that area.
State Police confirms no serious injuries were reported in
the incident. The driver of the lumber truck was cited for careless operation
and no insurance. Wow. Reckless and
irresponsible people driving big rigs. God have mercy.
PREVIOUS STORY:
KNOE is on the scene of an accident involving a log truck and a white Mazda Thursday morning.
It happened before 8:00 A.M. on Whites Ferry Road in West
Monroe, north of Cypress Street in front of Fair Park Baptist Church.
State police and Ouachita Parish Fire and Rescue are on the
scene and it appears an 18-wheeler carrying logs has flipped over on its side
onto a car. Some logs have fallen off of the semi and are on top of the
vehicle.
The road is closed and traffic is being diverted through
surrounding neighborhoods. Motorists are being rerouted north via Tensas
Avenue.
Entergy crews are also on the scene. The semi and car
involved in the accident are sitting near power lines. There's no word yet on
injuries in the accident.
