Popular South Jersey restaurant erupts in flames

CHERRY HILL, N.J. (WPVI) -- Firefighters battled a blaze at a popular Cherry Hill, New Jersey restaurant early Tuesday morning.

The fire started around 1:45 a.m. at Short Hills Deli on Evesham Road.

Crews arrived to flames shooting up the outside wall of the restaurant into the second floor of the building.

Two other businesses adjacent to the deli were damaged by smoke and water.

The fire was placed under control around 3:30 a.m.

There were no reports of any injuries.

This is the second fire at this restaurant.

A carelessly discarded cigarette caused a 3-alarm fire back in 2008.

No word on a cause for today's early morning blaze.
