Police are searching for an older model minivan after a woman was struck and killed in Philadelphia's Summerdale section.

SUMMERDALE, PA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for an older model minivan after a woman was struck and killed in Philadelphia's Summerdale section.

The crash happened after 11:30 p.m. Monday in the northbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard at Adams Avenue.

Police say the victim, a woman believed to be 19 or 20 years old, was walking in a cross walk while on her cell phone when the driver ran a red light.

Police say the impact of the crash caused the woman to hit the front windshield. She was thrown two hundred feet.

Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Investigators say the striking vehicle is a white or silver minivan. It was last seen heading east on Adams Avenue.

The victim has not been identified.
