A Toledo man was killed and a Sylvania woman was seriously injured when their motorcycle and another vehicle collided in South Toledo late Wednesday, authorities said.

Joseph Brimmer, 32, the driver of the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Toledo police.

Catherine Kime, 21, his passenger, was taken with critical injuries to University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, police said in a written statement released today. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

The motorcycle was driving south on Byrne Avenue approaching Hill Avenue about 10:30 p.m. when the other vehicle drove into its path, making a turn from northbound Byrne onto westbound Hill, according to police.

The driver of the other vehicle, Ashley Joyner, 25, of Toledo, was not injured. She had no passengers.

The crash remains under investigation. Charges are pending, police said. Police did not say whether Mr. Brimmer and his passenger were wearing helmets.
