CLEVELAND, OHIO

A 41-year-old woman is dead and two others are severely injured after a hit-skip accident early Saturday morning.

The accident happened at the intersection of East 105th Street and Wade Park Avenue.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner says Keyva Jones, 41, of Cleveland died as a result of the crash. She was driving a 2004 Chevy Venture van northbound on East 105th Street around 2:44 am.  A 47-year-old man was walking southbound on East 105th using the crosswalk.

According to the police, a 1997 Infiniti I30 was being driven recklessly by an unknown male, heading eastbound on Wade Park Avenue. While driving well over the speed limit, he struck the pedestrian in the crosswalk. The unknown driver then continued through a red traffic light and smashed into the left side of the Chevy van.

The pedestrian was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center and is being treated for a broken femur, broken neck, back injuries and multiple soft tissue injuries.
After the crash, the driver of the Infiniti exited the car and walked northbound on East 105th. He left behind his passenger, the severely injured driver of the van, and the severely injured pedestrian.

The female passenger of the Infiniti, a 25-year-old woman, was also taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for injuries to her neck and back.

Police continue looking for driver of the Infiniti who fled the scene. He is described as a heavy set black man with a light complexion and a bald head.
