TWO RESCUED AFTER AN AVIAT HUSKY SMALL PLANE HITS WIRES AND CRASHES INTO SNAKE RIVER NEAR IRWIN, IDAHO

Small plane crashes into Snake River IRWIN, Idaho -

Tonight the Bonneville County Sheriff's office is working to remove a small plane from the Snake River downstream from the Palisades Dam near Irwin.

According to the sheriff's office the small plane hit a wire over the river causing it to crash into the water.

Two men were on board both were able to get out and are okay.

The sheriff's office has secured the plane and are now tying to figure out if it can be removed tonight or if it will be tomorrow before it's pulled out of the water.

Narrative:
The aircraft experienced a wire strike and subsequent impact with the waters of the Snake River southwest of Irwin, Idaho. The airplane came to rest inverted sustaining substantial damage and the two occupants onboard were not injured.
