A Cockeysville, MD apartment building was evacuated Thursday morning while hazmat crews investigated an odor that turned out to be a "combination of household cleaners," county fire officials said.

Units were called to the building shortly after 7:30 a.m. after someone smelled a strange odor in a hallway of a building on Snowdrift Court, fire officials said. Fifteen people were evaluated for minor respiratory symptoms, but none had to be taken to the hospital, fire officials said.

Residents of a Cockeysville apartment complex were evacuated Thursday morning after they complained a gas-like smelled caused them to choke.

The Hazardous Materials Team later determined the source of the smell was cleaning supplies.
