Driver crashes onto utility pole, car catches on fire in Roxborough in Philadelphia, PA


A driver was critically injured after a car crashed and caught fire in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.

The incident happened past 4:00 a.m. Tuesday on Shawmont Avenue near Nixon Street.

Police say the driver lost control and struck a utility pole taking down wires.

The electrified wires then set the car on fire.

The driver suffered third degree burns and smoke inhalation.

He was rushed to Temple University in serious condition.
