CORNELIUS, N.C. —

Two people are dead after they allegedly led North Carolina police on a chase, crashed into a tree and became engulfed in flames.

WBTV reported that the police chase started at about 1:30 a.m. in Cornelius after police saw the car speeding and tried to pull over the driver.

Authorities eventually suspended the chase and later found the car had crashed into a tree and was on fire, according to officials. The vehicle was described as fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters responded to the scene and found two people dead inside the car, according to WBTV.

The identities of the victims have not been released. They will certainly do  not do that stunt again.  The investigation is ongoing.
