1 man killed in motorcycle crash in Wayne, New Jersey

WAYNE, NEW JERSEY

A Wayne man was killed Thursday night after being thrown from his motorcycle on Oldham Road, police said. 

Benjamin Boonstra, 25, crashed his motorcycle on Oldham Road just after 8:30 p.m., Wayne police said. 

The crash threw Boonstra from his 2001 Honda CBR, critically injuring him, police said. He was treated at Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson, where doctors pronounced him dead at 11:41 p.m. 

Officers from the Passaic County Sheriff's Office and the Wayne Police Department, who were attending a nearby police academy graduation, responded to the crash. It's not yet clear what caused the crash, which remains under investigation.
