1 man dies after Gaithersburg, Maryland motorcycle collision with a car

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA9) -- 

The operator of a motorcycle is dead after a crash that happened Saturday night in Gaithersburg, according to Montgomery County police.

The crash happened around 7:56 p.m. at the intersection of Frederick Road and Christopher Avenue, police said. 

The investigation shows that an Agusta motorcycle was going southbound on Frederick Road when it hit a black Acura MDX making a U-turn from northbound to southbound Frederick Road.

The victim in the accident has been identified as a 35-year-old man. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Acura, a 48-year-old woman and two other women, ages 82 and 52 were not hurt in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation, police said.
