Driver killed after losing control and slamming into a guardrail on Route 18 in Tinton Falls, New Jersey





An Old Bridge man died early Thursday after losing control off his car on Route 18, police said.

Township police responded at 1:37 a.m. to reports of a single-car crash on the highway, Capt. David Scrivanic said.

Rahul B. Nigam, 30, was traveling southbound in his 2003 Honda Accord when he lost control of the car, police said.

The Accord ran off the road and slammed into a guardrail, Scrivanic said.
Nigam died at the scene from his injuries, Scrivanic said.

Members of several other agencies responded to the incident from Pinebrook, Oakhurst, Eatontown and Ocean Township.
