8 ALABAMA TENNESSEE RAILROAD RAIL CARS CARRYING CORN FEED DERAIL IN ETOWAH COUNTY, ALABAMA

ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC)

Eight cars derailed and two covered hopper cars tipped over in the Ivalee Community in Etowah County on Sunday.

The train is from Alabama Tennessee Railroad, a division of OmniTRAX.

Rail personnel responded to the scene. Authorities have not released any information on injuries.

The train cars appear to be hauling corn feed.

COMPANY REPAIRING RAIL LINE AFTER DERAILMENT IN ETOWAH COUNTY, ALABAMA

ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC)

OmniTRAX rail company says they are working to restore service on a rail line in Etowah County after 8 train cars derailed on Sunday.
Two covered hopper cars tipped over on the Alabama and Tennessee River Railway, in Etowah County's Ivalee Community.

OmniTRAX says a total of eight cars derailed, as part of a 65 car train.

The cars were carrying corn feed and the train was traveling four miles per hour.

Company officials say there were no injuries in yesterday's wreck, and no hazardous material was involved.
