1 WOMAN KILLED, HOUSE COMPLETELY LEVELED IN MASSIVE PROPANE GAS EXPLOSION AND FIRE IN MEDARYVILLE, INDIANA

MEDARYVILLE, INDIANA

A woman was killed in a home explosion in Pulaski County Saturday.

The explosion occurred around 7:20 p.m. in the 2500 block of N 1600 W in Medaryville.

When fire crews arrived the house was fully engulfed in flames.

The Medaryville Fire Department with assistance from San Pierre Fire Department battled the blaze for several hours.

The house was searched using a cadaver dog and the body of a female was discovered.

The identity of the female is not being released at this time pending positive identification and autopsy by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.

A family cat was also located alive at the scene and turned over to Pulaski County Animal Control.

The Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the explosion but a preliminary cause of propane leak is suspected.

The house was completely destroyed.
