MAN, 19, KILLED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION WITH GARBAGE TRUCK NEAR FREDERICTON IN NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA





MAUGERVILLE, N.B. – A 19-year-old man is dead and two others are injured after a head-on collision involving a garbage truck on Route 105 in Maugerville, N.B. near Fredericton.

The RCMP said the man was from Onslow, Nova Scotia, and was travelling west when it collided with a Fero garbage truck headed east. He passed away at the scene.

The accident happened shortly after 9 a.m. The passenger in the truck and the driver of the garbage truck were both taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

An RCMP reconstructionist spent the afternoon on scene, and the route was closed all afternoon. It reopened early Monday evening.

The name of the deceased is not being released at this time pending proper notification of his family.
