ICE AND INATTENTIVE DRIVING CAUSES SEMI CRASH IN KELLOGG, IDAHO. THE TRUCK DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO PASS ANOTHER TRUCK ON THE ICY AND SLUSHY ROAD AND LOST CONTROL, RUNNING INTO THE CONCRETE BARRIER. THE REAR DUAL WHEELS OF THE TRAILER WERE TORN OFF AND FELL OFF THE BRIDGE TO DIVISION STREET, BELOW I-90.

KELLOGG, Idaho - 

 Idaho State Police report a semi truck crashed on I-90 when the driver lost control of his truck Monday morning.

The crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. when the truck driver, identified as Dale R. Cummings of Salmon, Idaho, attempted to pass another truck on the icy and slushy road and lost control, running into the concrete barrier. The rear dual wheels of the trailer were torn off AND fell off the bridge to Division Street, below I-90.

Three vehicles below were damaged by debris, but no one was in the vehicles at the time. The truck rolled onto its side and blocked the left lane of I-90 for a prolonged period.
Cummings was cited for inattentive driving and taken to Shoshone Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the wreck.
