SNOWDRIFT ROAD BLOCKED BY TRUCK AND TRAIN ACCIDENT IT HAPPENED EARLY MONDAY AFTERNOON IN UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA

UPPER MACUNGIE TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Snowdrift Road near Tilghman Street in Upper Macungie Township was blocked for about three hours Monday afternoon by an accident involving a train and a tractor-trailer.




It appears the truck was hit by a boxcar, which knocked it over onto its passenger side and pinned it against a utility pole. 




No injuries were reported. Quick Clicks Images: Truck-train collision in Lehigh County The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Norfolk Southern crossing on Snowdrift Road. 




The truck driver was identified as 50-year-old Raymond Marra of the 300 block of Chambers Street in Phillipsburg, N.J. Upper Macungie Township police report Marra was driving south on Snowdrift and failed to observe the train traveling west. 




A train car struck Marra's trailer, which caused both the cab and trailer to overturn. Both the truck, a 2012 Volvo tractor, and the trailer received major damage and had to be towed.
