A plane crash in Owyhee County left three people dead Sunday.

At approximately 9:10 a.m., the Owyhee County Sheriff's Office was notified of the crash, which took place in a remote area of the Owyhee mountains between Reynolds Creek and Silver City.

The cause of the crash is unknown.  Small planes are vulnerable in the mountains with the shifting winds and altitudes and rough terrain.

The Owyhee Sheriff's Office have confirmed that three people, and one dog, were found dead.

Officials plan to continue investigations of the scene on Monday. Names of the victims are not being released at this time.

The area of the crash is in the Tennessee Mountain Prospects, Silver City District (Carson District), Owyhee Co., Idaho, USA.  It is possible that these three were miners.  Or, they were just hikers as this area is popular with mountain hikers.
