Construction worker dies after falling at FM motel

A construction worker that fell Wednesday afternoon while working at a Fort Madison motel was later pronounced dead at Fort Madison Community Hospital.
The victim of the fall has been identified as Brian Wood, 45, of Linn Creek, Mo.
At about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Fort Madison firefighters and police emergency first responders were called to Boulder Inn & Suites, 4901 Ave. O, Fort Madison. Officers found Wood on the ground near the north end of the building.
According to a press release issued Thursday evening, a witness reported Wood fell out of a wooden box that was being lifted up by a forklift. Wood fell approximately 20 to 25 feet.
