A contract employee performing maintenance at BMW Manufacturing in Greer, SC was injured in one of the paint shops.








Greer, S.C. (WSPA) – A worker at BMW was flown by helicopter to the Augusta Burn Center after they were hurt around noon Sunday.

According to a BMW spokesman, a contract employee was injured while working at the paint shop in the manufacturing plant. The BMW fire and security team attended to the injured worker before EMS arrived on the scene.

The Augusta Burn Center confirms that a patient needing treatment was picked up from the BMW facility and taken by helicopter.

We do not know the extent of those injuries at this time and will update the article when more information becomes available.

BMW released the following statement Sunday night:


Sunday morning, a contract employee performing maintenance at BMW Manufacturing was injured in one of the paint shops. The employee received immediate medical attention from BMW first responders and local EMS. The employee was transported by helicopter to the Augusta Burn Center for additional treatment. No other information is available. The paint shop was not in production at the time of the accident.
