GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- Temple University confirms two men allegedly involved in a Friday homicide in Germantown have ties to the school's police force.
Aaron Wright, 47, is a former Temple police officer, while 41-year-old Marquis Robinson was a current Temple officer at the time of the incident. He has since been terminated.
Police were called to the 4600 block of Greene Street around 10:40 a.m. Friday, where both suspects live.
Officers say they arrived to find medics performing CPR on 24-year-old Joyce Quaweay. Wright was also there, police say, and allegedly told officers "I'm the one you want."
Wright was taken into custody without incident. Investigators say he admitted to beating Quaweay until she collapsed.
Police say Robinson fled the home before police arrived, but was later arrested.
Neighbors wouldn't talk on camera, but tell Action News it didn't appear the couple was having problems prior to Friday's gruesome murder.
Temple University says Wright resigned from the force in 2012.
Wright is charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault, Unlawful restraint, Criminal Conspiracy, Abuse of Corpse and related offenses.
Robinson is charged with Conspiracy to Murder, Aggravated Assault, Abuse of Corpse and related offenses.
