SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. (KGO) -- At least one person has died and another has been hospitalized after a vehicle went off of Highway 9 in unincorporated Santa Clara County, according to the CHP.
The CHP said officers responded to state Highway 9 on Big Basin Way about one mile north of Redwood Gluch Road at 1:15 a.m. on reports of a vehicle that had gone off the road.
A CHP officer said the coroner was on scene and as of 2 a.m. the highway had been closed in both directions as crews worked to recover the body as well as the vehicle.
The CHP said investigators were working to determine the cause of the accident and that there was no time estimate on how long the roads would remain closed.
