SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco firefighters have knocked down a 2-alarm fire at 6th and Minna streets in the city's South of Market area.
Firefighters shattered windows to ventilate the building so the fire doesn't start up again. Officials are close to calling this blaze out.
This was a vacant building next to the San Francisco Chronicle building.
SFFD says no one has been hurt or displaced. When asked if they think squatters were inside and were responsible for starting the blaze, they said it's too early to tell.
There was construction equipment on the lower floors, so there were possible renovations underway.
Crews got the call at 4:47 a.m. Monday and called a second alarm shortly after that, officials say.
Investigators are already inside the building, looking for a cause.
