FPSO ALVHEIM gas leak, North sea

Gas leak was detected on board of FPSO ALVHEIM, which is installed on Alvheim Oilfield in North sea, halfway between Shetland and Norway coast, in the morning July 28. Gas leak occurred in one of the pump compartments. Situation was put under control in a few hours, all 56 staff remained on board, as there was no real danger.
Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels, or FPSOs, are offshore production facilities that house both processing equipment and storage for produced hydrocarbons.
