MAYFAIR (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia firefighter is hospitalized after battling a house fire in Mayfair.
The blaze broke out at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday in the basement of a home.
Firefighters arrived in the 4700 block of Shelmire Avenue to find flames spreading to the upper two floors.
It took them about an hour to place the blaze under control.
One firefighter was taken to an area hospital to be treated for heat exhaustion.
He's expected to be okay.
Fire investigators are working to determine what sparked the blaze.
