Driver will be charged in Sandyston crash that left 1 dead

SANDYSTON, NJ -- State police released the identity Friday of the passenger killed in a one-vehicle crash Friday on Old Mine Road


Charges are pending against the driver, Sgt. Gregory Williams said.

Adonis Mojica-Sanchez, 27, of New York, N.Y., was pronounced dead at the scene following the 1:09 p.m. Thursday crash, Williams said.

Mojica-Sanchez was one of three passengers in a 2013 Honda Accord driven by Carlos Belliard-Diaz, Williams said.

Belliard-Diaz, 23, of Bronx, N.Y., who remains hospitalized with the two other passengers, will be charged with death by auto, assault by auto and driving while intoxicated, Williams said.

Injuries to all three were described as non-life threatening.Williams said the vehicle was heading south on Old Mine Road when, for unknown reasons, the driver lost control. 

It struck a wired guardrail, broke through several concrete guardrail supports and struck a tree. The accident occurred about two miles south of Kuhn Road.
