NORTH BALTIMORE (WTVG) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a single vehicle crash caused a fire, and closed the highway for hours Monday afternoon.

According to OHP, the crash happened on I-75 near mile marker 172 in Bloom Twp.

Troopers say that a tractor-trailer, driven by 32-year-old Eric Komlosky, was northbound on 75 when it went off the right side of the road, striking a concrete barrier. After that impact, a steel coil being hauled on the trailer broke free and came to rest in the southbound lanes.

The vehicle caught fire, and quickly filled with flames. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle, and was taken to Wood County Hospital for minor injuries.

The highway was closed for about two hours as crews worked to clean up.

The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol and drug use have been ruled out as factors in the crash, and Komlosky was wearing his safety belt.
