3 injured in crash involving Birmingham, AL fire emergency response vehicle

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Three people were injured in a crash involving a Birmingham Fire and Rescue emergency vehicle, fire officials say.

According to Birmingham Fire Capt. Brian Harrell, the rescue truck was headed to an emergency response when it was involved in a crash with a passenger vehicle. No rescue workers were injured. Three people in the passenger vehicle sustained injuries that are not life threatening. Two were transported to Princeton Hospital in an ambulance, and one went by private car.

Harrell did not specify what type of rescue vehicle was involved in the crash.
